Walking in the Shadows

Today was the day. Closing Day. It is surreal as I sit and look over the pictures and think of the memories made in this ugly little white house. We put the house on the market For Sale By Owner and in just 50 days had an offer, we accepted, and today we closed. The Lord has been so good to me and my little family. Much laughter and tears filled this home; today is indeed a bittersweet day. I'm going to try to post a couple End of Year blogs, today is our year in pictures. Hope you enjoy! We took a vacation in January to Gatlinburg, TN and had -0 tempratures and a good bit of snow. It was a great way to start out 2014. Here is Jason and Ethan on Jason's birthday in February. It actually snowed the day before his birthday and the roads were all icky. It has been 7 months since I last posted!!! I can't believe that much time has past, I'm not going to even try to make excuses. So, without further ado, here is a little of what we've been up to this summer. Got free Greenville Drive tickets for my little ones from the library for completing the Summer Reading Program. Ha, with a title like that I bet you wonder what in the world I am going to write! Ah, now that we are stuffed from all the turkey and dressing, many of us will wake up at the crack of dawn (or earlier) to participate in what is called Black Friday! Have you ever thought, "What is all the hype with Black Friday?" or "I would never get up at 4am for any kind of sale" or "I LOVE LOVE Black Friday, it is even better than Thanksgiving." Well, whatever your position, I am going to write a little bit about what Black Friday means to me. As I was reflecting on past holidays and past Black Friday shopping trips, I realized that the reason I love getting up with sleepy eyes to shop, is not really about the sales at all!
