Our Year in Pictures

I'm going to try to post a couple End of Year blogs, today is our year in pictures. Hope you enjoy!

We took a vacation in January to Gatlinburg, TN and had -0 tempratures and a good bit of snow. It was a great way to start out 2014.

Here is Jason and Ethan on Jason's birthday in February. It actually snowed the day before his birthday and the roads were all icky. We managed to make it to Olive Garden for a birthday dinner.

Ah, my little Free Spirit turned 4 in March. What a little firecracker she is, love her.

This is our Easter picture, my three kiddos with their Great-Grandfather!

Speaking of their Great-Grandfather (my Grandfather of course), he turned 80 years young in June!

August came and I celebrated 15 years of marriage to this handsome man. Where does the time go? I swear it was just yesterday I said "I do."

My Ethan turned 13 on September 7, seriously, a teenager! It was an airsoft war for him, not much fun for Mom, but I think that may have been the idea.

The younger two and I were able to get away for a weekend to Cherokee with my parents and grandparents. What a blessing it is to spend time with family, memories made that will last forever.

My Chandler turned 10 on September 27. We celebrated with a party in the back yard with some of his friends. This boy, is one of a kind, what a joy to raise him.

October brought Apple Picking with family and friends. Here is a shot of me and my Chan waiting on the yummy doughnuts from Sky Top.

Here is the family in Savannah, we were able to spend a couple of days there and then ministered in a church a little piece from Savannah. It truly is a joy to serve the Lord with your family.

The day after Thanksgiving, instead of Black Friday Shopping, we went downtown Greenville and had some Wings and Coffee. I know, what a combination, right?

This is a better late than never reward for Chandler's report card (all A's and B's).

And here we have Christmas 2014. I am the world's worst for getting the whole family together for a picture. So, here is the little one with her Frozen guitar.

And here is my adorable teenage son with his Columbia jacket.

Here is Chandler with his legos. And I'll spare you pictures of me and my hubby in our pj's

Hope you and yours had a blessed 2014.

It's Real

A week ago today, my youngest son made the most important decision of his young life. He gave his heart and life to Jesus! As a parent, there is no greater joy than to see your child come to Jesus. I know there are some who don’t believe as I do, but I implore you not to stop reading this post. Please just read my account and allow my words to sink into your heart. Friday we decided to go to a campmeeting in NC for its final night to hear an aged man of God preach. I am going to be honest here and confess that I was really tired and considered staying home (thank God I did not). We arrived at the campground and immediately saw our former pastor (where we call our home church), I was so excited as I had not seen him in a quite a while and it was a treat to see him and his dear wife. As it turns out the tent was quite full and we had to sit separate, Jason sat in front of me and the kids with our home pastor and his wife. Throughout the service I recall looking over at Chan...

Fear is a Liar

Lately the nudge to write has grown but I have fought it because I'm not sure what to write. There are things rattling around internally I just don't know which ones to write about. This blog is an outlet for me in so many ways yet I let fear grip me and I stay silent. Fear is a real enemy. Fear can keep us from living, really living.  A situation came up recently where someone I care about said something that hurt. I know it wasn't meant to hurt, but it hurt anyway. Fear kept me silent. Fear kept me from telling this person that their words hurt. Fear brought anxiety. Fear threatened to hurt a strong relationship. I would love to say I eventually confronted this person and told them my heart, but fear won and I have yet to speak the words. Fear has kept me from fighting the insurance company so that I can get the decompression surgery I need. I am afraid of another surgery. Ach, there it is, the truth. I'd rather live in pain then go through another decompression. Fear...
